Hello there!
I’m Kiera. I’m a writer, senior copywriter, strategist, and general marketing professional.
With over six years in marketing, I’ve made a habit of bridging the gap between great ideas and executions that actually perform.
Right now, I’m freelancing for small businesses who need a marketing eye or nice words. I’m also a contributing writer for Urban List.
My previous life in marketing-agency land saw me referred to as a ‘Swiss army knife’. This definitely refers to a broad skill set covering copy, design, and strategy, not physical flexibility (tight hamstrings, it’s genetic).
This followed six years of university, an era which of course also included finding myself in Europe, internships aplenty, and eventually becoming the editor of Esperanto Magazine. There was a French diploma thrown in there, too, the dying gasps of which are now sustained by that scary little Duolingo owl.
And before all that? It began with a nerdy little girl who was borrowing YA novels while her classmates were still reading Flat Stanley. She went on to find minor success as the admin of two Instagram fan accounts as a pre-teen (for Leonardo DiCaprio and Once Upon a Time, if you must know), and thought her life had peaked when she landed the theatre role of a lifetime (Mrs Webb in Our Town) at age 17.
In my spare time, you can find me running my book club, bemoaning my AFL team’s lack of success, sitting alone in a cinema with a BIG box of popcorn, and writing about all of the above on my Substack, The Smidge.
