Hello there!
I’m Kiera. I’m a writer, senior copywriter, strategist and general marketing professional.
With over six years in marketing, I’ve made a habit of bridging the gap between great ideas and executions that actually perform.
Right now, I’m freelancing for small businesses who need a marketing eye or nice words. I’m also a contributing writer for Urban List.
Wondering where this current career model of Kiera came from?
It began with a nerdy little girl who was borrowing YA novels while her classmates were still reading Flat Stanley. She went on to find minor success as the admin of two Instagram fan accounts as a pre-teen (for Leonardo DiCaprio and Once Upon a Time, if you must know), and thought her life had peaked when she landed the theatre role of a lifetime (Mrs Webb in Our Town) at age 17.
She went on to study at university for a whole six years, gaining double Bachelors degrees in Marketing and Media & Communications. This era also included finding herself in Europe, interning wherever they’d let her write, and eventually becoming the editor of Esperanto Magazine. There was a French diploma thrown in there somewhere too, the dying gasps of which are currently being resuscitated by that scary little owl on Duolingo.
Life in agency land followed in a hectic and incredible blur, during which she was often referred to as a ‘Swiss army knife’ — definitely referring to a broad skill set from copy, design, and strategy, not physical flexibility (tight hamstrings, it’s genetic).
In Kiera’s spare time, you can find her running a book club, bemoaning her AFL team’s lack of recent success, sitting alone in a cinema, and writing about all of the above in her Substack, The Smidge.
